If you are a frequent flyer then you need lightweight travel gear so that your trips are not so tiresome. Some of these trips are business trips and you need to get to your meeting fresh and not tired. It is important that you shop for the best lightweight luggage available and here are a few factors to consider.

It is important that you consider the material that is used in the manufacture of the gear. If you do not carry fragile items then you can opt for the soft sided ones. If you have items that can be easily damaged then you should buy the hard sided type. Soft sided bags are made of polyester or leather. While the hard sided ones are made from plastic and aluminum.

You should also consider the way the luggage is crafted. The best lightweight luggage should be able to hold at the seams and should not stain or tear easily. You can visit various online review sites and see what other users have to say about the various brands available before you make your decision. You should look for those that have wheels on reach corner. This protects the surface from damage from rubbing against other baggage. Also make sure that the handles are firm and will not break off easily. They should also be padded for easier handling.

You should also consider the prices of the best lightweight luggage. It is important that you balance cost and quality. If you can afford it then you should go for the highest quality available. If you are on a budget, then you should shop around and see which one will give you value for your money. Going for a cheap one may end up being costly in the long run since you may have to replace it after every few trips.

Other than convenience, carrying light luggage also gives you the benefit of not having to pay airline weight charges levied on those who have baggage that is above the allowed weight limit. These charges are quite punitive to discourage people from carrying overweight luggage.

A short while ago, I moved to what I think is one of the best Puerto Galera resorts for working online.

Puerto Galera is a town in the Philippines and is roughly 3 hours from the capital. The resort I’m staying at is called Badladz Adventure Resort and with free WiFi and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s a great place to relax as well as get things done.

One of the main reasons I came to South East Asia is that it’s a great place to build an online business. When you’ve got a laptop and you can work anywhere, there is no place better to build a business and make money online than South East Asia.

Almost every bar and restaurant provide free WiFi so getting online is no problem. At Badladz, the Puerto Galera resort I mentioned earlier, the WiFi is fast and reliable. I’m usually working all day and I have no problem getting things done.

If you’re going to be staying at a Puerto Galera resort, it’s a good idea to get a comfortable room. Luckily, the rooms at Badladz Adventure Resort are clean and comfortable. There’s a fan in every room and air-conditioners for those steamy-hot tropical nights. When I need to chill out and relax, I can watch Cable TV on the TV in my room.

One thing that I love about this Puerto Galera resort is the food. Here I am in the Philippines (a third world country!) and I can get top-notch Mexican food. It’s probably the best Mexican I’ve had, including Quesadillas, Tortillas and delectable Wet Burritos. For people who want a more traditional experience, there is Filipino food available on the menu.

One thing that makes or breaks Puerto Galera resorts is their proximity to nightlife. If the resort is too close, then it can be too noisy and the typical crowd will be of the seedier type. If the resort is too far, there’s nothing to do in the evenings. However, Badladz is an easy 10 minute motorbike ride away from the two main towns with nightlife in the area. Badladz sits on the edge of Puerto Galera bay and it’s the only resort in the area, making it more relaxed and less crowded.

Another reason Badladz is one of the best Puerto Galera resorts to work online at is that they’ve just set up a beach resort. When you need a break, walk down to the beach and go for a swim. The water is warm and the view is beautiful. It’s the perfect way to relax and recharge your batteries.

Next time you’re looking for a place to stay and work, remember Puerto Galera and Badladz Adventure Resort.

I’ve been to Koh Samui several times. Normally, I’m just passing through on my way to the much cheaper and less developed island next door, Koh Phangan. Since Koh Samui has an airport it is hard to avoid the place if you want to get to the south of Thailand quickly.

Koh Samui is Thailand’s second biggest island. In the 1970s and early 1980s Koh Samui was a place that both hippies and package tourists shared. As the prices started going up and the cheap bungalows were pulled down the hirsute brigade largely moved on to pastures less developed.

In the early 2000s I noticed that Koh Samui had entered a new level of development. Once the big supermarkets, good hospitals and international schools were in place, the island sought to tap into the lucrative private residential market. Even big estate agents such CBR Ellis entered the race to sell million dollar villas to foreigners on very shaky legal foundations. The housing market pretty much collapsed after Wall Street imploded in 2008.

When I think about the money involved in Koh Samui I find it hard to reconcile the fact with my most enduring impressions of Koh Samui. The few nights I’ve stayed in Chaweng and Lamai I’ve been disconcerted by how much of a brothel the place is, like parts of Sukhimvit in Bangkok.

Yes, the amenities and facilities are present on Koh Samui. Yes, Koh Samui does have sailing, jazz, historic temples and even an annual marathon but the main tourist hubs are tacky and the taxi drivers infuriating to deal with.

The nicest part of Koh Samui is Bophut. It has a good beach with no road nearby. There are expensive boutique resorts as well as cheaper more ‘Thai’ places to stay. The small town called Fisherman’s Village has retained some of the old Chinese architecture and is gratefully devoid of ‘beer bars’. If you want to stay on Koh Samui I would recommend Bophut over Chaweng and Lamai.

While increasing travel demands and rising oil prices may mean higher costs for an upcoming vacation, it is still possible to find great deals online that will save you money. There are numerous travel websites that will help you find the best deals when it comes to all your travel needs, including airfare, hotel, and car rentals.

Kayak.com lets you scour over hundreds of possible sources to find the cheapest airfares available. If you are flexible on the destination and the time you go, you have an even greater chance at finding an amazing deal. You can search for travel dates up to three days before and after the ideal travel date. The Buzz tool enables you to locate flights that are more than a month away.

LateRooms.com provides people with the best opportunity to look up last-minute bargains at hotels all around the world. When you locate a great deal on a hotel, you can click on the link to allow you to book over the phone, which is a smart move to make when it comes to those eleventh-hour reservations. You get the phone number of the hotel and a reference code to ensure you get the low rate you were able to find online. LateRooms.com also has “secret room” deals that offer extreme discounts on four and five star hotels. The only thing is that you will not know which hotel it is until you pay.

DealBase.com is a vacation package website providing you with easy searching of over 70,000 flight and hotel deals all around the world. DealBase.com is possibly best known for the “Deal Analyzer.” Numerous hotels advertise promotional offers that may include a number of add-ons, such as continental breakfasts, free Wi-Fi in the room, or access to the fitness center. DealBase.com’s “Deal Analyser” actually dissects these promotional packages to see whether or not it is a good value and how much you are apt to save by going to this hotel. If you stumble across an offer that is a good value, you click on the “Get this Deal” button and you are instantly redirected to the website where it can be purchased.

WhichBudget.com is a great website to build inexpensive flight plans for overseas vacations. WhickBudget.com uses budget, local airlines to provide you with an amazing way to save extra money on your international travel. The website has a comprehensive list of different airlines that services more than 170 countries. All you have to do is select the starting point and the ending point. WhichBudget.com will then list all the airlines. Do not be surprised if some of them you have never heard of before. Once you found your flight, click on the link of the related airline and book the flight.

DriveMyCarRentals.com.au is a peer-to-peer car sharing network that not only promotes, but facilitates private car rentals. People who are looking for long term car rentals or just a car for the long weekend are paired off with private individuals willing to rent their car out. This not only offsets a number of the fixed costs associated with car ownership, but it is also a lot less expensive than some car rental companies by up to 80 percent. Drivers are also provided with access to numerous vehicles to select from. While this service is currently relegated only to Australia right now, by late 2011, Drive My Car Rentals hopes to expand internationally.

TripAdvisor.com is a great hotel review website where you can read over 45 million amateur and professional reviews about hotels throughout the United States and all over the world. Although this website does not offer deals on hotels, you can click links to partner hotel aggregate websites to check rates. However, the only thing to be aware of are fake reviews written by hotel owners trying to bump up the rating of their hotel or discredit their competition. Discard reviews that are rated either very high or very low and check out the ones that are midrange.

Hotels.com is one of the most well known hotel aggregator websites that can save people money. At this website, you can search of accommodations in over 130,000 properties. There are last-minute deals updated every Thursday. Advanced travel planners like Hotels.com because even they can find great deals with destination-specific deals, seasonal sales, and their “Smart Picks of the Month.” Those who travel frequently benefit from the “Welcome Rewards” program where for every ten nights spent at any combination of the member properties in the program (approximately 53,000), they get a free night’s stay that is priced at the average daily rate of those ten nights.

AirfareWatchdog.com is a great website for those looking for a flight deal as soon as it hits the internet. Those employed by AirfareWatchdog.com scour airline websites day and night for new sales. When you sign up with this website, you can get discount offers and promotional codes to get cheap flights.

Not so many years ago Koh Phangan was a little heard of island that saw only a few intrepid backpackers and travellers. The neighboring island of Koh Samui with its airport, better roads and better facilities attracted most of the big spending tourists who didn’t choose Phuket. Now things are slowly changing. A trend is developing of visitors searching out new, less spoiled places to visit. One such place to benefit from this trend is Koh Phangan.

There are two main types of people who take holidays on Koh Phangan. The first are the predominately younger people who stay in cheap bungalows in Haad Rin and Ban Tai and who come for the beaches, sun and parties. The other type is the people who want luxury accommodation, beautiful beaches and peace and quiet. This latter type has allowed better dining options to emerge on the island.

Koh Phangan has always had great fresh fish and of course fresh coconut. Now it has a few chefs who can use the best of Thailand’s many great agricultural products as well as imported products to make a variety of food that wets the appetite.

The best restaurant in Koh Phangan is Me’n’u. It is set in a quiet coconut grove in Hin Kong. Me’n’u offers European cuisine with an extensive wine list. It is a beautiful building with both inside seating and al fresco tables.

On Haad Rin Nok Beach there is the stylish Emotion of Sushi. It has a cool aperitif bar downstairs and upstairs is a relaxed dining area. Emotion of Sushi offers fresh sushi and fusion dishes.

In Chaloklum there is the boutique Sheesha Bar and Restaurant. It has a sundeck on the beach front, lounge and dance floor. Sheesha serves up BBQ and a few well made international dishes. There’s a good wine list and you can also enjoy a postprandial sheesha pipe with aromatic tobaccos.

The Santhiya Resort and Spa on the gorgeous beach of Thong Nai Pan Noi has 3 distinctive restaurants. Santhiya is in the top three best hotels on the island. The head chef Alex overseas all food. The Chantara Restaurant is open on 3 sides and has amazing panorama views of the bay. Lamb, BBQ, beefsteaks and seafood are the specialties of the restaurant.

Finally, no restaurant guide is complete without a run down on Italian food. The best Italian restaurant on Koh Phangan is the All’Arena in Haad Rin. It has a pizza oven and serves not only delicious pizzas but also a selection of other Italian classics.

And of course if its authentic Thai food that you want then there’s the great night market in Thong Sala where you can enjoy real Thai culture outdoors eating incredible food for as little $1.50 a dish.

Dining has never been better in Koh Phangan.

A renewed fascination with outdoor activities, particularly trail hiking, has resulted in an increased variety and availability of hiking shorts which were previously only available at specialized outdoor stores. However, cheaper versions may not be as particularly tailored to your needs as you’d like. Before you buy consider these options.

If you are going out for a day hike on a well-traveled trail, you may need nothing more than shorts with well-placed pockets. Traveling along these hikes, you will see folks in knit shorts, cotton twill, gym shorts, and even denim. Your comfort and ability to move freely are your main considerations and specialized clothing is not required. However, if the terrain is steep, temperature will vary, the trip is long, or if there will be an opportunity to get wet, a true pair of hiking shorts may be the best choice.

Many shorts offer snap-off or zip-off options for changing temperatures. If you like to avoid crowds or catch a sunrise vista, you might depart early in the morning when temperatures are still low. Temperatures rise as the sun comes out and your body warms up due to exertion. Desert hikes are notorious for these significant temperature extremes. Having the ability to remove the lower portion of the pant, either above or below the knee, offers some flexibility and a less bulky alternative to simply rolling up the pant legs.

Many manufacturers also offer a dry-weave or dry-wick material. This is advantageous if you are concerned with sweating a lot, or encountering water along the trail, since they dry quickly and keep moisture away from your skin. If you are on a longer trip, they also rinse and dry faster than most materials, and they pack wrinkle-free for travel.

A final consideration is the number of pockets you may need. If you are not carrying a pack, you may want hiking shorts with lots of pockets. However, even if you are only carrying a few items that you want to keep handy, make sure you can evenly distribute the weight, that pockets are lined or stitched appropriately, and sized in accordance with the items you will typically carry.

As with any other hiking gear, finding the right pair of hiking shorts is based on your assessment of their intended use. There are enough different varieties on the market in a reasonable price range that you should be able to find exactly the pair you are looking for, or be able to buy numerous pairs for your various uses.

Located from North to East from the lovely Bristol City, the Cotswold is the perfect town to think of when imagining England and what it has to offer. This area consists of rolling hills, also known as Wolds that make way for the beautiful limestone villages. One of England’s leading University towns, which the Romans called Towns and Bath is a great spot to visit as well, being home to the Bath Spa, a genuine Roman bath house. Cheltenham on the other hand is the town of Britain’s 4th security, the GCHQ, which is the listening hub of the electronic communication traffic of the world. Lastly, the Stow on the Wold, which is like a village but has charming hotels and restaurants.

The Cotswolds is a very English area that has narrow winding roads along with sheep that can be seen in all corners. To explore and have a great view of the different villages and breathtaking farmland, it is recommended to rent a small European car.

Options for Touring

Berkeley Castle is a great place to stay, which was first built to protect England from the rebellious Welsh (a part of the Marches Castles that spread on the border from England to Wales and from Liverpool to the Cotswolds), which was quite usual of most of the castles around there. Blanheim Castle is also another one to consider, which was where Sir Winston Churchill was born. Broughton Castle that is situated in Banbury is considered one of the most stunning castles in the whole of England.

The Cotswolds is easily accessible from Heathrow through the M4 highway and is definitely England’s most original and unspoiled spots. When visiting, you can also check out Bristol city nearby, where there are 5 star hotels and quality restaurants.

If you want to experience England for what it is, then the Cotswolds is definitely a great destination spot to consider. While you are there, check out Stow on the Wold, Malmesbury, Cheltenham, and Bath to have an Olde England encounter. At Cardiff and Bristol, you will learn all about how the Welsh and the English have gotten along. If planning to take a plane, you should know that Heathrow Airport is further than the Cardiff one. From there simply rent a car and start exploring.
